There are a ton of resources out there on startups and leadership. In my own journey, I keep coming back to only a handful. No surprise, most of the resources below focus on people as this is at the heart of what makes or breaks a company. That said, there are only a handful of resources I’ve come across that blend the science and the art of entrepreneurship in a useful way. And remember that any advice needs to attune to the context and stage of where your company–and you–are on the journey.
From Start-Up to Grown-Up: Grow Your Leadership to Grow Your Business: one of the best books for early stage startups, most are focused on growth or late stage. Must read for executives on the journey from founder to CEO.
The Great CEO Within: The Tactical Guide to Company Building: one of the best books for growth to late stage startups, and distilled into the Mochary Method Curriculum to better operate your company as it scales.
The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership: A New Paradigm for Sustainable Success: brings together some of the best exercises and frameworks for leadership and team building, with a focus on shifting from fear to trust-based leadership.
The 100 Best Bits of Advice from 10 Years of First Round Review: arguably the best publication out there on building startups and this article in particular compiles some of the best advice over the past decade.
